Hatha Yoga is a preparatory process of yoga. The word “ha” means sun, “tha” means moon. “Hatha” thus means the yoga to bring balance between the sun and the moon, or the Pingala and Ida, in you.
Flow-based Hatha Yoga focuses on postures and breathing techniques to channel vital energy source. Through proper alignment and mindful actions of the body, Hatha Yoga practice improves muscle strength and tone, brings balance and promotes a sense of wellbeing.
Restorative Yoga is a restful practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching.
Restorative Yoga is a meditative form of yoga that allows you to focus on your breath while releasing tension in your body. It aligns the physical and mental aspects by practising stillness for extended periods of time, with the support of props such as folded blankets, bolsters and blocks. The practice leaves you feeling relaxed and reinvigorated.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that incorporates the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with poses that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles.
Yin postures are held to target the fascia (connective tissue) of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine as well as the connective tissues surrounding the muscles and joints. Yin Yoga practice releases fascia and improves joint mobility, improves the flow of chi or prana, and promotes a greater increase of blood flow to nourish and rejuvenate the body and calm the mind.
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation that promotes deep relaxation. Also called "yogic sleep", it refers to a state between sleeping and waking. Your body is completely relaxed as the awareness is turned inward.
We begin the class by gentle stretches followed by the Yoga Nidra practice. This practice calms the mind, relaxes the body, soothes the nervous system and reduces fatigue. The practice also strengthens immunity, improves quality of sleep and supports brain function and boosts creativity.
